The hardest part of working with Lindsay Lange, Independent Consultant for Grace Adele, was deciding on which bag to choose.  With seven color choices and then 5-7 options for design… yeah, it was tough.  I ended up going with “Mary” because I loved the buckles and having a pocket on each side for my keys and cell phone.  For the clutch I knew I wanted purple so I got “Rae” to have a little bling.  I completed my style with a matching purple wallet and voila!  I was ready to rock the town Grace Adele Style.

It is hard to pick my favorite part of this bag – but I can tell you I spent the first day just smelling the leather.  It is so soft and beautiful.  There are so many inside pockets I barely had anything in the biggest part of the purse – which actually made it really easy to put my hands on anything I wanted.  And of course I also love that my Diva Success System Planner fits perfectly!  :)

Halloween Themed Party Games for Party Plan Consultants

I love hosting theme parties with my Party Plan Business.  It’s a great way to break up the monotony of doing the same ‘ole party every time.  With Halloween just a few weeks away, I wanted to share some of my favorite Halloween Themed Party Games that you can begin using as early as October 1st!   Check places like Party City with these Party City Coupons to stock up on candy and decorations and you can give a “spooky” feel to your party easily and economically!

Who Am I?

When a guest arrives a name tag or piece of paper is placed on their back and they are told that by the end of the party they must guess what it says.   Note: You can choose to use product names, names associated with Halloween or Fall.

This is done by asking other guests ‘yes’ or ‘no’ questions about what the paper says. They are not allowed to read it themselves, nor are they allowed to ask someone else what it says.

When they guess correctly, they win a prize like a candy bar or maybe a sample or Gardening Gift.

What’s In A Name?

Give each guest an index card and pen.  Have each guest write as many candy names as they can in one minute.  You can use an online stopwatch to time them.   You could also pass around a bag or tray with candy on it and have them write down the ones they remember seeing on the tray – one point for everyone one right!

You can vary this game by having them list things like “reasons to be your own boss” or “reasons to have a *company* party” instead of candy names as well.

What Do You Carry?

As you are going through your party presentation, randomly call out letters from the alphabet and the first person to hold up something from their purse with an item that starts with that letter gets a piece of candy.  The person with the most candy at the end of the show wins.  This is a funny one when you see what people think of with each letter.

The Great Pumpkin

Give each party goer a piece of paper or index card to draw on.  Then give these instructions:

1. First, draw the Great Pumpkin in the middle of the paper 2. To the left of your Great Pumpkin, draw a a little pumpkin so he is not lonely. 3. You are surrounded by vines, so go ahead and draw those in.  4. This is a Pumpkin Patch, and every pumpkin patch needs a Scarecrow. Draw a scarecrow in your patch.  5. Halloween is when bats come out to play, so put some bats in the air 6. Do you have a Happy Great Pumpkin or a Scary Great Pumpkin?  Go ahead and draw in his happy or scary face.  7. Draw a Halloween Moon in the sky.

NOW YOU CAN OPEN YOUR EYES! How does it look???? Pass paper to the person on your left for Grading:

If the pumpkin is in the middle – 10 points
If the little pumpkin is to the left of the Great Pumpkin, but not touching – 10 points
If there are more than 2 vines – 15 points
The base of the scarecrow is near the ground – 20 points
More than two bats in the air – 20 points
The face is actually ON the Great pumpkin – 20 points
If the moon is in the sky, but not touching any other part of the picture – 15 points

Perfect score is 110

These are great games to help pass the time while you are waiting for tardy guests to arrive or just to break up the party presentation if things start to drag.  Games are a way to keep the party fun and not boring, while making people laugh.  Remember, the more FUN your guests have, the more they will want to party with you again!

Tips For A Great Customer eNewsletter

Try Constant Contact FREE for 60 days!Offering a Customer Newsletter (or eNewsletter) is one of the most TIME effective and COST effective things you can do to increase your Party Plan Business in big ways.  Reports show that companies that use eNewsletters have seen an increase in business both in first time sales and even larger increase in returning sales.   eNewsletters can also increase your customer loyalty, referrals, and enhance your reputation as an “expert” in your field.

But how do you know you are writing a great eNewsletter?  Here are some tips for making each eNewsletter that you send an exciting, effective marketing tool.

Carefully plan out your content.

Each eNewsletter should include these five vital pieces:

  • a welcome note from you
  • a product highlight and/or special with testimonials
  • hostess rewards with a call to action to “book your party now”
  • information on the business opportunity with a call to action to “join my team”
  • and an informational article relating to your industry

The welcome note should be a personal, upbeat note in your own words that thanks your readers for reading the newsletter, tells a bit about something you might be “excited” about, things going on with your business etc.  Make sure it is positive and upbeat – it will most likely be the first thing your customer reads.  Make sure it makes a great first impression.

Always highlight a single product or product bundle with a link to purchase going directly to that product check out page if possible.  Include a picture, description, sale or special if applicable, and a testimonial – even if it is your own!   Include a call to action (“Order Now While Supplies Last”) to create a sense of urgency and inspire your reader to purchase.

Hostess Rewards and Opportunity should be in every single eNewsletter you send out!  You never know who might receive your mailing at “just the right time” for them to book a party or join your team.  Your Hostess Rewards should include the sales or specials for the upcoming month – encouraging bookings early in your month to help “front load” your month to increase your monthly volume.  Also include a call to action with these as well.

A Informational Article turns your eNewsletter into a resource instead of simply a sales page.  By offering “free” information – tips, ideas, strategies, etc – your readers will come to know that your eNewsletters are full of useful information for them – even if they do not intend to purchase at this time.  Instead of simply deleting the eNewsletter, they are more inclined to open it to see what they might learn.  Your readers will be drawn in with the article, and may venture over to reading your sales pieces as well.  Either way you are continuing to show that you are knowledgeable in your field and willing to share what you know.

Build Your eNewsletter List.

Even if you have the best, most well written eNewsletter EVER – if no one is receiving it, your business is not going to benefit at all.   The larger your mailing list, the more beneficial each eNewsletter will be.

At your parties, ask your party goers for their email address to add to your email newsletter list.  If you are using the “Three Ways to Be Involved” introduction at your parties, include the eNewsletter offer when talking about benefits of being a customer or client.

Write a report or eBook to offer for free to everyone who signs up to your eNewsletter.   eNewsletter software such as Constant Contact give you the option of creating an auto responder which can give your brand new readers a free eBook or report when they opt-in to receive your eNewsletter.  The report can be “Top Ten Tips” for your industry, a great “how to” report, etc.  Remember, YOU are an expert – and the training you receive from your company is meant to build your business.  Share what you know!

Invite people to join your eNewsletter via your Social Media outlets, email, voice mail, etc.  With an Opt-In form – which most all eNewsletter software offer you – you can offer the opportunity for people to sign up for your eNewsletter no matter where they live, what time zone they are in, etc.  Your Opt-In form will be there 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  So spread the word about your Newsletter on your Facebook Fan Page, Twitter, account, LinkdIn, in the side bar of your blog, in the signature on your email – everywhere!

Timing Is Everything.

The whole foundation of Party Plan Divas is a Time Management System that I have specifically created for Party Plan Consultants.  If you follow the Diva Success System, you know that I recommend your eNewsletters are sent out on the 20th day of each month.   This may go against other trainings you have seen that suggest sending them out near the beginning of the month, but let me explain why the 20th is an ideal time frame for your eNewsletter.

Sending later in the month creates that sense of urgency with your sales and specials because the “offer” is only good for another 10 or so days.   When you receive a “sale” that is good for an entire month, it is easy for a customer to think “oh, I want that, but it can wait till next payday.”  Chances are you will be long forgotten about by the time that next payday rolls around.

The 20th day of the month also gives you time to get some Hostess Coaching in – even if your Hostess books for the very first day of the next month!  Let’s say you send out your eNewsletter the morning of February 20th, and you receive an email or call of a hostess asking to have a party on March 1st – that gives you a full eight days to get invitations in the mail, get her some catalogs to show for outside orders, etc.  You can still get some of the vital Hostess Coaching steps in even with a party the very first day.

Likewise with the Business Opportunity information, most every Party Plan Company has a blueprint for getting started on the right track in the first month of her career.  With that in mind, you have the 8-11 days from the time the eNewsletter is mailed out until the first day of the following month to meet with her, tell her more about the opportunity, etc – even to schedule a KickOff Party if you choose to get her started at the beginning of the month and help her have a fantastic “first month in the business.”

With eNewsletter software you can also track your statistics to see who opened your eNewsletter, what they clicked on, and whether or not they shared or forwarded the email.  You can easily track what works – and what doesn’t!

 Be Consistent

An email Newsletter is a phenomenal way to increase your business quickly, economically, and effectively right from your home.  You can work on your eNewsletter with your children at home, with or without a car in the driveway, or even in the middle of the night when you finally get some time to concentrate. You do not have to pick up the 600 pound phone, or worry about what you are going to “say” to someone.

Whatever your situation, you can begin right now to increase your business using an eNewsletter.

 

Welcome to My New Office

Over the weekend I was a bit scarce on Party Plan Divas, but with good reason.  On Saturday we decided to revamp the house, move some rooms around, and set me up with a brand new office for 2012.  I can not TELL you how excited I am.  There is just something about a “new space” that makes you feel energized,rejuvenated, and ready to take on the world!   By request from a few of my Divas, I am taking you on the “tour” to show you where I work each day, and how I keep my life, time, schedule, and space organized.   Welcome to my office!

One of my favorite tools that I have had for years is my four-month dry erase calendar.  It is pretty large so you can write in just about anything you need, but I love being able to see my next four months “at a glance” at any time.  It is on the wall directly behind my office, so I can spin around and see it any time.  It was a little pricey, but has been worth every penny!

Next is this amazing hutch that my mother in law gave me.  It “hides” a television, so I can watch tv when I am working alone (gotta have some sound) but close it for a great background for when I am recording videos.

1 – it also holds my weights and exercise equipment for when the mood strikes for some curls.

2- Books I love and gain inspiration from.  You can see my Top Ten list here.

3 – My Gold Canyon warmer and pod I received as a gift from one of my Divas.  Currently rockin “Pool Towel” – the scent that reminds me of summer – even when it is chilly outside.

Beside my desk I have a two shelf book case with things that I need to be able to put my hands on quickly:

1 – my corkboard of important stuff – includes my voters registration card, Office Depot coupons, items I need to order, etc.

2 – a mirror… of course.

3 – my “take to the car” pile.  Includes my Mobile Office and things that need to go to Office Depot to be copied.

4 – cute little box of dry erase markers in over 10 different colors – a MUST have.  Color is everything.

5 – my brain (lol) includes binders for Conference Calls, Diva Success Sisters Chapters, Diva Leadership Academy notes, Direct Sales News magazines, etc.  Also has  my random wires to connect my camera, phone, iPod, etc.

6 – shipping items, a huge hole punch, and items that need to be returned to my Corporate Office.

Then of course the nucleus of it all…. the desk.  I love love love love this leveled corner desk that I purchased years ago from Target, but I believe that Office Depot has them as well.  It is huge, but truly perfect.  It gives space for all of my “stuff” while still having plenty of room to write or spread stuff out to make Gardening Gifts.  Truly worth whatever they are asking for it.

1 – camera bag that houses my Canon T3 Rebel with all of its lenses.

2 – web cam which is connected to the PC with Skype running at all times for quick spur of the moment coaching chats

3 – stationery, note cards, etc to send out for recognition, encouragement, or thank yous

4 – business cards and gardening gift supplies – mostly all from Cello In A Box :)

5 – my current “to do today” pile – includes a book I need to review and my Executive Size Diva Success System Planner.  Also has extra file folders for me to grab in a hurry.

6 – a trash can.  My best friend.  I have to tell you – I fill this thing up at least twice a week.  Truth is we hang on to so much crap we just simply do not need.  If you havent used it since Halloween – throw it away.  If you have to dust it off to pick it up – throw it away.  If it is papers – scan them in to your computer and then throw it away.  Clutter is TERRIBLE for productivity.  Just throw it away.  If you need it again, make the money to buy it again – but I bet you wont need it!

My Tween daughter also moved her desk in here, along with her computer and school stuff.  It has been great to do homework and such with both girls here in the office together.  They know this is a “work room” and not a “play room” and have been great about keeping things tidy and put away.

1 – my 31 Gifts everything bag.  It kind of accompanies my “take to the car” pile.

2 – crafts, crayons, glue sticks and other fun stuff that is for my girls, but I use from time to time for fun activities such as a Vision Board.

3 – her little “audience” of Littlest Pet Shop critters.  Like her mother, she enjoys speaking in front of a crowd. :)

The only thing that I forgot to take a picture of is the bottom of my desk – where there is space for my file cabinet, computer tower, and printer.   I also have my past Planners and a bag of mini hand sanitizers for gardening gifts.

Clever Container Swing Away Driver Organizer

When Colleen Garcia, Founding Consultant for Clever Container responded to the Holiday Gift Guide post I was beyond excited.  As an Organizational NUT I love all things having to do with organization, space management, and anti-clutter tools.  When she asked me to help pick out the “perfect product” by looking at her website, my first thought was “I will take one of everything…please.”  :)
