YahooGroups have been around for over ten years.
Beginning originally as “eGroups,” YahooGroups were ahead of the times, offering the functionality and resources for building a strong online community.
With amazing tools such as Files uploads, Photos, Calendars, and more, it is no wonder that YahooGroups continue to be the best online resource for building and training your Home Party Plan Team.
Read on to learn about the Top Ten Tools that keep YahooGroups THE place for your team!
1. Open Discussion Forum
YahooGroups are an “open discussion forum,” basically meaning that anytime a member posts a message to the group, the entire member list receives it.
This is great for questions, sharing ideas, commiserating, and getting to know each other.
It is a great way to let even brand new consultants feel like they are supported and a part of the team right from the very beginning.
2. File Upload
Your YahooGroup will host dozens of files viewable and downloadable by all members of your group.
Share as many files as you want – Hostess Coaching Files, Flyers, Promotions, Recruiting files – literally everything you want to build your business can be shared with everyone one on your team.
Product launches, holiday gift sets, Gardening Gifts, and more – host all of your photos right here!
You can also have your members post their own pictures to share and get to know one another, strengthening your “sisterhood.”
Host Photo Contests, “hide” pictures for Scavenger Hunts and more with fully functional photo albums.
4. Privacy Options
YahooGroups privacy options are top notch.
Keep your Group private and manually approve who you let in the group, or open it for all of your “sister” consultants to join as well.
Either way, you can avoid spammers with just a few simple settings, creating a safe, fun learning environment for you and your team.
Because of the Open Discussion Forum platform, Recognition is easily handed out via your YahooGroup.
Send weekly updates, sales levels, recruiting achievements or just “Wooo Hoo’s” to keep your team actively cheering each other on!
Offering leads to your team is easy with YahooGroups – and keeps the game “fair.”
Post your lead information (such as “Party for next Saturday night in Pensacola”) and offer it to the “first responder.”
Then, whomever responds to the lead first, via the YahooGroup, you can send the rest of the details to in a separate personal email.
7. Searchable Archives
This has to be one of my favorite parts of YahooGroups – the search function.
No matter how long you have your YahooGroup, you can search the archives by keyword, email, or date.
For instance, the holidays are approaching, so do a search for “holiday,” “Christmas,” “Santa,” etc and pull up emails from the past holiday seasons.
This is a great way to retrieve old files or ideas that were not uploaded into the Files section.
8. Calendar with Reminders
Schedule your Conference Calls, Training Events, Conventions and more with the Calendar function.
Simply add each event, and even set reminders to go out periodically to your entire member list.
Allow your members to upload their party bookings to cheer each other on for every party!
Upload your favorite links to your favorite vendors all in one place.
All members can upload their favorite links to outside websites for products such as Gardening Tools, Leadership Gifts, Business Tools, and more.
The Links section will host all of your favorite web addresses for the tools you and your team need.
10. Databases and Polls
In the Home Party Plan Industry, we know the importance of community and a feeling of sisterhood within our teams.
It is, after all, what sets apart the most successful teams from all of the others.
Easily create Databases and Polls to open up discussions, learn more about one another, and encourage friendships among your team.
I am sure there are benefits I missed in this Top Ten List (like the fact that all of these features are available completely FREE of charge!!) and I would love to hear how you are using your YahooGroup to build your team!
If you haven’t started a YahooGroup for your team, head over and make one right away!
It’s one of the best and easiest things you can do to improve your team!
Disclaimer: I was not compensated in any way for this post – I just love YahooGroups and want to help spread the word!
