Recruiting is a struggle for many women in Party Plan, often because the opportunity to recruit often knocks very lightly. As a Party Plan Consultant it is your job to listen carefully and understand to subtle clues so you will know who is just making light conversation, and who is wanting to learn more about your opportunity. It is these “green lights” that will help you to become a Remarkable Recruiter.
I am often asked my position on Party Plan Consultant’s carrying “stock” or inventory to deliver directly to their customers at parties. I sometimes ruffle some feathers when I say Consultants should “ABSOLUTELY not carry inventory!! – It will kill your business!!”
Now, before you “stock holders” begin to yell, let me just explain why I feel this way, and also say that just like everything ELSE in this industry – there are exceptions to every rule. If it works for you to carry stock – by all means, continue. But if you are a Consultant who is contemplating whether or not to carry inventory, here are ten points to ponder.
Everyone hates to fail – or hates the idea of failing. Even as children we are taught that there is nothing much worse than failing at something. Failing a class. Failing to keep your room cleaning. Failing to get picked for the football team. We put such an enormously negative energy around failing, it is no wonder we grow up to fear that word more than any other.
Most people do not realize that you MUST fail in order to succeed. How many times did Thomas Edison “fail” when inventing the light bulb? How many times did Alexander Graham Bell “fail” with the telephone? It is the education that you learn from each failure that brings you closer to your success. So how do you overcome failure?
